An unusual George IV sampler, ornately worked by Ann Abson, aged 8, dated 1824. A large sampler with a central motif of a recumbent Tiger near two serpants, above are two seated cats, and spot motifs birds in trees, vases of flowers, edged by a deep vined border. 51.5cm wide x 50.5cm high. Condition - the linen backing has darkened heavily in places from sunlight. The embroidery is good and the colours are strong. The frame is missing veneer in places.
