An unusual Chelsea 'goat' jug, circa 1745, modelled with two goats, flowering branches and a branch shape handle with oak leaves, this variation lacking the bee and the area in question over-glazed in manufacture, incised triangle mark to base, height 11 cm , old repair to handle, slight losses

The handle has been broken off at the join at the top and towards the bottom with some restoration filler around the area and some discolouration, there are many losses to the applied leaves on the handle and some chips to the rim including three associated short hairline cracks, there is small glaze hairline half way down one side only in the glaze not the body and a slight unglazed patch near the base at the hind quarters of one of the goats and there is a chip beneath one of the goats front legs on the bottom edge of the jug, the only restoration is to the handle at the joins.
