Some fading to the case but still retaining a fair strength of colour, more or a walnut tone with the dark black grain running through it rather than the purplish tone, as would be expected the interior retains darker colour, the fret work panel to the right of the music stand has been broke at some stage and been glued back together, music stand all in tact and original, interior has an iron frame at one end, the rest of the frame being wooden, does retain a fair state of tune, back sound board inscribed in ink 62092, some other old marking, scratchings and marks where tuning has been done, sound board has one or two fine cracks running the right side end, original paper naming label a little rubbed but still clearly legible, a few minor chips to the tips of the keys which are ivory, legs and castors all in good condition, this is a particularly heavy instrument and of more solid construction than one typically sees in square pianos.
