An early 20th century Chinese huali wood occasional table, W.2ft 6in. D.2ft 6in. H.1ft 6in.

An early 20th century Chinese huali wood occasional table, of square form with carved frieze, on square legs, W.2ft 6in. D.2ft 6in. H.1ft 6in.
Estimate £300-500

Please note this is hongmu not huali wood, the square inset panel to the top made in two parts and there is shrinkage to the central join, slight shrinkage around the edges and some areas of fading to the top, the apron has carved rails with some slight shrinkage between the carved rail and the plain rail above so each side has a slight gap, possibly some old filler in some of the joints where they have moved slightly and there are some fine cracks on a couple of the legs nothing which effects the structure, there are areas of darker ebonised to patches on the legs, frieze and side, the structure is slightly wobbly but basically sound, otherwise in reasonable condition.
