An early 19th century ebony inlaid mahogany quarter chiming bracket clock, Handley & Moore for French, Royal Exchange, No.2995, the lancet case with raised ebony stringing and corner cluster columns, the signed 8 inch painted Roman dial with gilt spade hands, the signed three train fusee movement stamped 'Handley and Moore 2995' to frontplate, chiming on a rack of eight bells mounted centrally over the shaped plates, united by six knopped pillars, with anchor escapement and racks for the quarters and hours, 19.75in.

The case is in good order with some very slight damages to the surface finish and could easily be repaired, the silks and side frets will require replacement, the brass furniture is dirty but would respond well to cleaning, the dial is worn around the edge and around the winding squares, there are also numerous chips on the dial between the numbers V and VII. The hands may be replacements. The movement is polished, the pendulum may be a replacement as it has been given supplementary weights, the going train and the quarter chiming train both function, the strike train however does not function as the spring has broken or become detached, it will require an overhaul.
