An early 19th century Swiss or French engine turned gold (tests as 18ct) musical open face keywind pocket watch (a.f.), with Roman dial, maker's mark JR?, case diameter 58mm, gross weight 124.8 grams.

No hands and the glass is missing also. Music plays when wound. The pendant bow plunges but with no apparent sounds or striking as a result so maybe a repeater also, but in need of attention??. There is a dent to the bottom of the case near the hinge and small button. Some minor wear to the engine turned decoration. Two small knocks to the perimeter of the case back and some very minor scratches to the case back also. Cuvette is gilt metal. Cluster of small scratches where the gold was tested on the inside of the case back.
