An early 19th century French carved giltwood and gesso wall mirror, with rectangular and marginal plates, surmounted with a foliate scroll crest centred with a basket of flowers, W.60cm H.120cm

Condition:
This looks to be a marriage with the upper crest associated to the main frame, colour of the gilding differs slightly and style of carving differs significantly, main plate is old and possibly original with some small oxidisation marks and a surface chip near the top right corner, marginal plates showing more oxidisation with a crack through the base plate, main frame good, crest showing cracks and breaks running through the lower parts of the scrolls and in the scrolls running above the top of the basket, finish to the back suggests that if this is a marriage it was done a long time ago.
