This piece of furniture has a rich mid to dark reddish walnut tone and looks to have been repolished within the past 10 years or so, left side shows vertical splitting and cracking as does the right hand side, drawer fronts in very good order, one or two light surface scratches but overall fine, handles are later smaller replacements, and escutcheons are also replaced, with small plugged holes showing to the drawer fronts and corresponding holes inside the drawers, concave starburst is very shallow and is possibly a later embellishment, please see photographs for details, lower left side of the foot has gnawing from a dog by the looks of it and will need some attention, bracket feet look later suggesting that the whole of the base has been rebuilt at some point, overall a good looking piece of furniture but not 100% original.
