Lot 377 , An early 18th century oak dresser base, W.4ft 10in. D.1ft 6in. H.3ft

An early 18th century oak dresser base, W.4ft 10in. D.1ft 6in. H.3ft

An early 18th century oak dresser base, fitted three long drawers over panelled cupboard doors, on stile feet, W.4ft 10in. D.1ft 6in. H.3ft
Estimate £200-300

Overall rather dark in tone, faded at the top but then getting darker as one goes down, the three planks to the top are probably later replacements using old floorboards, handles are later replacements, the old holes now being plugged and still showing as slightly darker, doors and hinges look original albeit with later knob handles, internal shelving in pine showing worming at the bottom, if this was once raised on stile feet they have not been cut or worn down to be level with the base stretcher which equally now shows some old wear and worming.
