An Elkington & Co. Japonaise ormolu mounted 'cloisonne' enamel vase, c.1874,
decorated with birds amid flowers on a red cracked ice ground, within floral scrolling borders, the ormolu stand cast with fungus, on four key scroll supports with ‘ruyi’ head feet,

Condition:
There is a patch of restoration to one side of the enamel body measuring approximately 5.5 cm x 3.5 cm maximum. The vase is a little grubby in places and the gilding is a little pitted and grubby with some evidence of a previous lacquer coating in places. There are three holes to the base of the ormolu stand fixing to the base of the vase the fixings are later replacements and have been removed so that the vase can be looked at more easily. Otherwise in reasonable condition.
