An Edwardian gold and seed pearl brooch, circa 1896, of panel design, centring on a strip of gold passing through a heart-shaped buckle set with split seed pearls, fastened by a pin, accented with a circular-cut diamond, within a border of bead and rope twist decoration, the reverse later inscribed 'Sep 9th 1905', mounted in 15ct gold, length 4.5cm, British hallmark, gross weight 5 grams

Condition:
Brooch pin base metal, a later replacement, with visible solder to brooch fittings. Some restoration around one end. Not visible from front - looks fine when worn. A charming design, nice quality overall.
