Lot 23 , An Edwardian dapple painted wood rocking horse, L.3ft H.2ft 9in.

An Edwardian dapple painted wood rocking horse, L.3ft H.2ft 9in.

An Edwardian dapple painted wood rocking horse, with glass inset eyes, and trestle base, L.3ft H.2ft 9in.
Estimate £300-500

Horse has been repainted to good effect with dapple finish, glass eyes look original, trestle base steady in operation when rocked backwards and forwards but does wobble quite significantly from side to side, this is partly because the front legs of the horse are not attached to the trestle base so some further attachment is required, trestle foot looks original and a good golden colour, horse lacks tail.
