Lot 486 , An Art Deco burr maple dining suite, probably Epstein, table 5ft 9in. x 3ft

An Art Deco burr maple dining suite, probably Epstein, table 5ft 9in. x 3ft

An Art Deco burr maple dining suite, probably Epstein, comprising table and six cloud back chairs with cream leather upholstery and a cocktail cabinet, table 5ft 9in. x 3ft
Estimate £3,000-5,000

Table - retains good strength of colour, probably slightly faded but still fair, typical slight wear and tear around the edges, but overall good condition.
Chairs - all have some degree of loss of veneer, principally around the edge of the backs, one chair has lost half of the veneer from its top edge, others have smaller section of veneer missing, elsewhere small amounts of scattered damage to the veneering, some of which have been filled over the years, this now shows as darker patches as the original veneering has faded, one chair is now very pale round the back, the others vary from pale to near original golden colour, cream leather work basically sound, looks a little dirty, some of the piping has lifted away in places but overall eminently re-usable just in need of cleaning and restoration, legs with expected small knocks and dents at the edges but overall good, all chairs remain in good solid condition with no wobbles to the framework.
Cocktail cabinet in good condition, remains a good rich colour, one or two very small nicks and dents but essentially good order, no key present, handles look original, peach glass interior with some staining across the bottom panel.
