An Apulian red figure bell krater, Southern Italy c. 4th century BC, painted with a woman's head, the reverse with a standing nude male figure between foliate scrolls, applied loop handles, on a circular foot, 21.5cm high, 22.5cm diameter

Extensively broken and repaired with some repainting around the immediate area. A few chips to the foot.
The vendor's late parents purchased from a dealer in Russell Square opposite the British Museum around 20 years ago.
