An 18th century Indo-Portuguese ivory, ebony and tortoiseshell games box, with trays of assorted gaming counters including ivory, mother of pearl and cowrie shell, width 15.25in.

The exterior of the box is missing some tortoiseshell veneers to the cover at the centre and around the edges, is a little grubby in places, on the rear right corner there is a piece of ivory veneer missing, the interior has been later pink morocco leather and velvet lined probably in the 19th century and contains 19th century Chinese export mother of pearl counters, some disc, rectangular and fish shaped and bone and ivory counters in natural blue and red stain, some of the counters inside are quite late plastic examples, green and blue ones in particular, there are two lift out trays, the lower one one of the tabs which helps you lift the tray has split off, otherwise in reasonable condition.
