An 18th century Indo Portuguese ebony and ivory casket, decorated with bands of flowering foliage and urns, the interior with compartments and seven small drawers with white metal scroll handles, width 1ft 7.5in. depth 1ft 1.5in. height 4.5in.

Overall in good condition, lacking feet, the moulding on the left hand side is partially detached, there are some minor shrinkage cracks to the top of the lid and the left hand side silver handle is detached, but it is present apart from the retaining pommel. The interior has previously had covered side sections and there have been further alterations to the rear, the open section in the centre of the box has been relined with red velvet.
