Sanguine chalk on paper, the image is feint, and the ground paper perhaps slightly discoloured, paper showing undulation throughout so not laid down, a number of small scattered dirt marks throughout, signed at 6 o'clock in the same sanguine chalk inscribed in pencil'Ecole Francais XIXESE lower left, old card mount and slim gilt frame, Leicester Galleries 1961 Exhibition label verso with purchasers Sir Geoffrey Hutchinson, Fine Art Society 1980 label and Abbott & Holder label along with a Christie's stencil mark. Etching with acid stains around the mount. Clean oak frame.
