Both oils relined and restored 20 - 30 years ago or so, canvas's remain tight, paint a little dirty with some very fine but stable craquelure showing on the Puritan but essentially both in good order, Puritan signed lower left and dated 1887, Cavalier signed upper left without date, housed in gilt scroll frames which have some small losses to the mouldings.
