Lot 1276 , After Sir James Butler East Madras landing and embarking, 1856, 15 x 20.5in.
After Sir James Butler East
pair of coloured aquatints,
Madras landing and embarking, 1856,
15 x 20.5in.
Estimate £150-200
Both prints in somewhat distressed condition, mounted to within a 0.25 inch of the image with the exception of the top where no border is visible, both prints scuffed, scratched and torn with Landing at Madras having a small section missing and re-coloured at 12 o'clock, both also thought to be laid down and with dirty and fox specking. Housed in old discoloured washline mounts which have been cut away to reveal the titles, under glass in old stained wood frame.
Overall rather poor condition but usable as working examples of the print.
