Oil on canvas relatively recently cleaned and relined, canvas remains tight, paint in good clean condition, a fine but stable craquelure running throughout, perhaps a few dirt sports and little retouches to the faces and no doubt a few retouches elsewhere, most notably the palette brush and the hand holding the palette which may well be overpainting.
size given is for the work not the frame, the frame is a modern gilt example that adds a further 5 inches to each measurement.
