Condition:
Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas remains tight, paint rather dirty with signs of old damages scattered throughout, most notably a stretcher mark running across the top just beneath the title, the left hand side margin with some retouching including the J of Jane at the top and retouching of stretcher marks down the sides, paint in fair order, a little fine craquelure on the flesh tones but mainly and only on the faces, a little craquelure elsewhere, Kneller Pinxt inscribed in the lower right corner in what looks to be a later hand, housed in a period giltwood and gesso frame which is now rather tatty, relatively recent labels verso relating to family ownership.
