Oil on canvas relined approx. 20 - 30 years ago or more, canvas now undulating, paint dirty with some light surface scratching, a small area of flaking in the centre of the oak tree and some scattered old craquelure, signs of overpainting throughout particularly in the top corners but also scattered elsewhere, appears unsigned but an old inscribed label with attribution is on the stretcher, tatty moulded wooden frame.
Comes for sale from a private vendor who inherited it from her grandfather.
