A ticket for the funeral of Lord Nelson at St Paul's, Jan 9 1806 signed by the Dean with black seal, given to William France Jnr, undertakers responsible for the construction of the coffin and the arrangements for the lying in state in the painted chamber at the Royal Naval Hospital, Greenwich. The coffin was of spectacular construction containing 10,000 gilt brass nails costing the magnificent sum of 10 Guineas. 7.5 x 11.5cm

Damp, discoloured staining to the top left corner of the ticket. Otherwise fairly evenly discoloured paper with a faded ink signature of the Dean. Black seal in good order, housed in a stepped card mount and modern gilt frame.
