A third quarter of the 19th century French ormolu cartel clock surmounted by a Bacchanalian figure, over the 6 inch Roman and Arabic enamel dial, with gilt hands, the two train spring driven movement with anchor escapement, Brocot type suspension and outside countwheel strike on a bell, height 68cm width 42cm

The case is dirty with engrained dirt and there are small stress fractures in the castings but otherwise in good condition and the gilding is bright. The dial is in fair condition with the usual chips and scuffs around the winding holes, there are some small radial scratches and the usual chip around the regulation arbor, the hands are in good order, though the minute had is very slightly bent out of true. The movement is dirty but functions, it would benefit from a service, the movement has not been tested and cannot be guaranteed.
