A tall Chinese rootwood figure of Shou Lao, 17th/18th century,
the standing figure holding a scroll in his left hand, remnants of polychrome decoration,
46 cm high, missing the staff in his right hand

Condition:
The figure has a pale caramel brown patina, with occasional age cracks to the timber. There is a small loss to the bow on the back of his head and he is missing the staff from his right hand. There is evidence of some polychrome decoration in places. There is a vacant niche to the back of the figure and a small hollow area to the lower the part of the figure which is a natural part of the root wood. Occasional minor flakes to the patina otherwise in reasonable condition.
