A small Chinese Suiyvan carpet, the fawn ground field woven with a lattice pattern, each cross centred by flowerheads, within a border of peony blossom at intervals, 238 x 163cm

Condition: Overall in fair condition, pile remains soft, colours are strong, majority of the wear is around the edges just going in to the navy blue border but in a few places going in a little further through the paler blue line and just into the main coloured bordered, equally worn at both fringe ends, but still retaining most of the original blue border, otherwise small scattered areas of wear, one end in the floral panel is worn down to the weft for about an area of approximately 6 inches, there is what looks to be some moth damage right down to the weft half way up in the main field, this damage is repeated elsewhere up one side and scattered elsewhere throughout the main body, the other end again has some wear down to the weft in the centre, please see additional images on website.
