A silver mounted oak casket, presented by the Borough of Romsey to The Honourable Patricia Mountbatten on the occasion of her marriage presented by the Borough of Romsey to The Honourable Patricia Mountbatten on the occasion of her marriage to Lord Brabourne, October 1946, the casket being a replica of the one in which the parchment of her father's Freedom of the Borough was enclosed and made from the sale old oak taken from Romsey Abbey, with presentation inscription and Borough of Romsey crest, width 28cm depth 16cm height 14.5cm

Overall of light golden oak tone, a little dull in finish, silver plaques oxidised, typed presentation letter inside the casket.
