Estimate £800-1,200
All of the frames are in good condition with little sign of any wobble, both carvers have wear to the front tops of the arms, precisely where hands would rest, this has worn through most of the paint at that point, otherwise all of the single chairs have rubbing and wear to the left and right dead in line with the central panels, this must be from having been pushed against the table for many years, what this does serve show is that the paint has some age, caning on all chairs is good, light wear to the tips of the feet, difficult to date, they are certainly 20th century, but not of recent manufacture.
Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid. All transactions are governed by Gorringes Conditions of Sale.
