A sapphire and diamond ring, France, first half 20th century, claw-set with an elongated cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 6.41 carats, to shoulders millegrain-set with circular-cut diamonds, size M1/2, French assay mark for 18ct gold, French maker's mark, gross weight approximately 4.5 grams
Accompanied by report no. 25792 from the Gem & Pearl Laboratory, stating that the sapphire measuring 12.5 x 7.8 x 6.4mm is of Sri Lankan (Ceylon) origin, with no indications of heat treatment

Two tiny nicks around the girdle of the sapphire. One of the diamonds on each shoulder has a small chip. French marks on the exterior of the shank.
