Lot 698 , A ruby, sapphire and diamond 'Day and Night' ring, mid 20th century

A ruby, sapphire and diamond 'Day and Night' ring, mid 20th century

A ruby, sapphire and diamond 'Day and Night' ring, mid 20th century, designed as a continuous band of channel-set calibré-cut rubies and sapphires, between two hinged half-hoops of single-cut diamonds, size K1/2
£100-150

Condition:
Band significantly misshapen, but an oval shape that's still comfortable to wear - diamonds align better with ruby side than sapphire side. Stones still in settings, seemingly secure and in good overall condition, minor wear. Metal umarked and untested, probably platinum or possibly white gold, but not possible to guarantee which - not base metal.
