A rare pair of mid 19th century carved wax pictures, depicting sportsman and dogs in a wetland landscape and stag and deer amongst woodland, 26 x 36cm, original gilt gesso frames

Condition:
One or two tiny losses from the frames along with numerous old cracks but essentially good original order, now with a slightly dull finish. Shooting scene - cracks running through the main landscape, small losses throughout, background is black painted wood showing damp spotting, to the reverse an Ackerman & Co Repository label and typed label stating a left and centre figures restored some time before 1900, trees, reeds and dogs restored Feb 1955 J.H. Scene with deer in overall better condition, though still with some losses and spotting to the background, no labels verso, overall frames are 47 x 53cm.
