A rare early George III shell cameo and enamel brooch and necklace, early 19th century and later, comprising: a necklace, the front composed of five shell cameos, depicting the goddess Hera, Cupid/a putto with butterfly wings riding a goat and playing two horns, Cupid riding a lion (symbolising 'Amor Vincit Omnia' or 'Love Conquers All'), the goddess Athena, and a young girl wearing a headdress respectively, each with a deep blue enamel border and connected by double strands of gold chain, to a later back chain, length 39cm; and a brooch of similar design, composed of three cameos depicting Cupid with a bow, Cupid crowning Venus, and Cupid playing the double pipe respectively, length 5.7cm, later adapted
