A rare and early Monart red and millefiori glass vase, c.1924, shape A, colour code 4, the mottled red ground with scattered canes by Salvador Ysart, 24cm

Provenance: William Elliott, Director of J.B. Treasures Ltd, Liverpool Industrial Glass Manufacturers, was given this trial vase by a director of John Moncrieff Ltd of Perth in the mid 1920's; thence by family descent.
Contains A05, A07, A10 and other Ysart canes.
Has some slight wear around the top rim, has some opaque shallow bubbles to the interior of the glass, the larger ones with some bruising and losses to the bubbles exposing the next layer of glass beneath them so remnants of some white paint on the interior of the vase, there is wear to the base consistent with age and there is manufacturing shallow chips to the raised pontil beneath, the exterior in good condition with many different forms of coloured canes, there is no label present.
Provenance: Directly from the owner, a descendent of William Elliott Director of JB Treasures Ltd.
