A rare Derby single handled chocolate cup, cover and stand, c.1795-1800, painted in the manner of John Brewer to oval and canted rectangular reserves with hunting dogs, game birds, parrots, rabbits, a sheep and a squirrel, on a canary yellow ground, puce mark, 11 cm high

Cf. John Twitchett, Derby Porcelain, figure 257 for a pair of similar shape cups and covers which are probably those described in the Derby factory pattern books as 'Large New Chocolate' cups.
All pieces with minor wear to the gilding and enamels, some occasional minor glaze imperfections. The inner sleeve of the cover has a splinter chip, the stand has small splinter chip to the upper edge and there is a 20mm long hairline crack to the right of the rabbits reserve.
