Lot 344 , A pair of late Victorian mahogany club armchairs,

A pair of late Victorian mahogany club armchairs,

A pair of late Victorian mahogany club armchairs, with buttoned tan leather upholstery, on parcel ebonised underframes, fitted ceramic castors
Estimate £800-1,200

Both chairs in good condition. Frames remain solid, leather upholstery shows signs of wear with a patch staining where the head would rest on both. Spotting and scuffing throughout and on one chair cracking to crackled patches that would lie beneath the back of the knee. Both look to have been leather fed fairly recently and remain in useable, characterful condition. Frameworks show ebonised staining in the recesses, some light surface scratcing and scuffing as expected with use but essentially good order. Original castors fitted all round.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging.
