A pair of large Chinese enamelled porcelain "four-fruit" boxes and covers, 19th century, each modelled as a peach, a gourd, a bitter melon and a pomegranate, applied with scrolling tendrils, on four bat shaped feet, the interiors with divided sections

Both boxes look rather dirty, one has seen some darker orangey red restoration to the stickingout flowerhead and other tips of the body, there is some fine surface cracking showing across the top of the lid and to the underside but this does appear to be in the firing rather than later damage.
