A pair of large Berlin fluted ovoid jars and covers, late 19th century, each painted to wreath shaped reserves with young courting couples and figures emblematic of music and literature, between floral sprays and gilt decorated borders, the domed covers surmounted by eagle and sceptre finials underglaze blue sceptre marks, height 34.5cm

Some wear to gilding on rims and body, one cover has two small splinter chips to the edge, the other a loss to the sceptre in the eagles claw, no cracks or restorations.
