James Giles decorated porcelain and glass for some of the most influential figures of the day including Clive of India, The Duke of Richmond, Lord Viscount Palmerston, The Duke of Marlborough, The Earl Fitzwilliam and Richard Sheridan (1751-1816), the Irish playwright and satirist, whom this pattern is named after.

The first plate has some minor gilt flakes on the rim occasional minor scratching to the glaze, the second plate has some minor occasional scratching to the glaze otherwise both in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks.
