A pair of Sevres style porcelain portrait plaques, late 19th century, each of oval form, painted with the portrait of an 18th century lady in bleu celeste and gilt decorated borders, titled 'Lamballe' and 'Mdse de Montessen', height 29cm excl. velvet mounts and gilt frames, overall height 45.5cm

Both plaques look to be in good condition, the lady in pink is slightly better order in that the gilding looks to be in marginally bettter condition, the gilding is a little matted but one can make out the titles of both ladies at the bottom, there is some light rubbing to the left edge in the blue of the lady in purple, these plaques are thought to of once been mounted in a cabinet and now sit in later velvet covered mounts and gilt gesso frames, one of which has some damage at the bottom.
