A pair of Sevres style ormolu mounted cobalt vases, late 19th century, each vase with gilt metal bases and handles, the tapering bodies decorated with scrolling gilt edged painted panel of a courting couple signed Max and a painted landscape to reverse, interlaced L marks, 18.5cm

The metal mounted handles are not firmly attached and are prone to movement, which has resulted in some associated surface scratching around the handles. Both vases show typical wear to the gilding in places and occasional minor flaking to the raised gilded cartouches. Some minor firing imperfections (most visible on the neck of one of the vases), occasional typical minor surface scratching to the glaze and age related scratching and wear to the gilt metal mounts.
