A pair of Italian blue and white maiolica albarellos, Savona, late 17th century, the first painted with the title ‘De Muccillag:~’ to a banner, with crest and recumbent figure, houses and a cherub, the second with the title ‘Hura * Comp ~’, a cherub holding a jar, a figure in 17th century dress, a galleon ship and a bird, each with a shield mark to the base, 21cm high, glaze losses, latter chipped

Condition:
De Muccillag albarello has typical glaze losses to the rim and around the foot with some deeper nibbles to the foot. The ‘Hura * Comp albarello has a chip and associated hairline cracks to the rim summer, some large glaze losses to the shoulder and some glaze losses and deeper chips around the foot.
