A pair of Chinese lime-green sgraffito ground vases, late 19th century, enamelled with ladies, butterflies and cranes against a sgraffito green ground, above a keywork band with flowers and leaves, surmounted by two ‘lion-dog’ handles, 32.5cm high, chipped.

Condition:
Typical minor glaze imperfections. One vase has an over enamelled splinter chip in the manufacture at the rim, a small hairline crack at the rim as well as a very small chip. Its lion dog handles have shallow chips to the glaze. The other vase has one shallow chip to the upper rim, loss to the enamel cranes body and neck and a firing crack around the join of one lion dog handle. Both have minor wear to gilding.
