A pair of Chinese ivory vases, early 20th century, each a carved in high relief with farmers and fishermen in landscapes, fitted wood stands 28 and 28.5cm, later holes to stands

Both vases are made to specially their wood stands, the example with the fisherman is slightly thinner walled than the other and the other heavier thicker example with figures in a boat and a lady with an ox has some slight age cracks to the ivory near the base, both of the wood stands have holes later drilled in the bases where there was probably once light fittings to illuminate the interior of the vases, these have now been removed. Otherwise in good condition with no restoration or chips.
