A pair of Chinese famille verte petal moulded saucer dishes, Kangxi period, each painted to the centre with a pheasant amid rockwork and flowers, the border with a repeating design of flowers, rockwork and insects, diameter 16.5cm, slight damage

Provenance: UK private collection; purchased from specialist dealers and auctions in the 1950s and 1960s.

First dish has a shallow glaze flake to the gilt rim and a tiny splinter chip to the edge of the foot, there are two overglazed firing cracks to the outside edge of the rim, not visible from the interior, the second dish has a long thin horizontal splinter chip to the edge of the rim at the 4 o'clock position and a hairline crack to the rim extending 35mm, otherwise in good condition.
