A pair of Chelsea botanical dessert plates, c.1765, each painted in 'Hans Sloane' style within gilt foliate moulded rims, gold anchor marks, 21cm

Both plates with some wear to the gilding on the edge, the plate painted with bulbous orange flowers have some heavy speckling and fritting around the edge and on the underside near the edge and the plate with purple orchids / bell shaped flowers has a small overglazed firing crack to the underside of the edge, both with some slight wear to the enamels in the well and some scratching to the glaze persistent with age.
