A pair of 19th century Italian carved white marble figures of putti, one holding a bird's nest, the other a bird, height 31in.

Child with nest - marble rather dirty particularly across the upper exposed surfaces, in the main has a smooth surface, some dirt spots scattered throughout and fritting and chipping around the edge of the base, child with dead bird - beak has been broken, again dirty with a discoloured stain on the upper side of the left arm, has been broken through the base running across the tops of the feet just before the ankles and through the base of the tree stump with a further crack running behind the feet, base is also cracked across and has chipping around the edge, no sign of any signature to either figure, possibly some sugaring around the edges of the bird and lower down on the bird holding putto's tree stump.
