Condition:
Restoration projects: some damage including holes at north and south poles; scrapes and losses to the gores where the brass meridian has fouled the surface across lower hemisphere; dark-stained scuffs alongside Alaska and across North Pacific Ocean; general darkening of the varnish; three sections of edge cross-banding missing; gilt- brass meridian worn and difficult to read; red paintwork around frame circumference worn; further damage. Celestial visually better in general although printed detail lost close to top, approx. 5x4cm, visible in first image; north and south poles good; two scrapes either side of Pisces; further long scratch alongside Malby nameplate; brass meridian good.
