One chair has had the upper section of the back broken away and re-attached, the crack runs through the top of the uprights to each side and through the middle of the upper section of the splat, a few old worm holes scattered throughout, otherwise notably chipped and dented throughout the frame work, further hairline cracks showing at the bottom of the back just above the seat to each side, gilding looks to be original though as mentioned with numerous areas of small losses, the other chair with a similar hairline crack running through the upper sections of the back and hairline cracks lower down, does not appear to have been broken just suffering from movement in the joints, more significantly wormed than the other chair, a number of worm holes showing particularly in the lower section of the back and all around the sides of the seat rails, gilding similar to the other chair is worn and battered throughout but looks original.
