A pair Chinese gilt-lacquered wood panels, late 19th / early 20th century, both carved in high relief with cranes amid plum blossom, one panel forming the character 'Fu', the other 'Shou' amid bats and clouds on a red ground, black and gilt frames, 78.5 x 43cm

The frames are possibly later as are the spandrels in each corner, both panels have been restored and re-varnished and it generally good condition with minor scuffs and wear to the decoration.
Provenance: Purchased from a Hong Kong dealer in 1988.
