Lot 107 , A mid Victorian inlaid and parcel gilt pollard oak breakfront dwarf library bookcase
A mid Victorian inlaid and parcel gilt pollard oak breakfront dwarf library bookcase, of impressive proportions, fitted with an arrangement of nine glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, over three drop front doors, on plinth foot, 444cm wide, 54cm deep, 138cm high
£1,500-2,000
Condition:
Overall an impressive piece of furniture in fair to good condition, top is veneered in burr wood and is now a little sunbleached with some splitting and patchiness in the varnish, may well have been repolished at some point as it has a rather ginger tone, remainder of the body in a more natural mid light brown colour but in need of some repolishing, knob handles look to be original and turn to operate the door latches, locks look original but lack keys, some areas of loss to the gilt mouldings.
